Recently, EFAMA published an updated review on the asset management industry in Europe. Inclined to keep you briefed on the the latest and greatest data about the industry, we’ve updated our infographic with new key stats from this report which outlines the role of the asset management industry, its most important functions, its contribution to the financing of the economy and more.
Some of of our favorite stats include:
- Total AUM in Europe increased by approximately 9% in 2013 to EUR 16.8 trillion
- More than 3,200 asset management companies are registered in Europe, employing about 95,000 people directly and over 435,000 indirectly at end 2012, bringing total employment to 530,000
- Institutional investors, acting on behalf of millions of households, represent the largest client category of the European asset management industry, accounting for 74% of total AUM in Europe
