Read our follow-up white paper on the 25 Best Asset Management Websites (03 March 2021).
When an advisor clicks on your asset management website, they begin forming opinions straight away… and those opinions make a difference.
Back in 2013, we published 19 of the Best-Designed Asset Management websites and it became one of the most popular ‘entrance pages’ into our website. Since then quite a lot has changed, so we thought it was high time to do another exhaustive review of over 300 investment management websites.
This is not a ranking exercise, but more of a collection of what we feel are the best-in-class websites in our industry – sites that include modern web design techniques and best practices, including: responsiveness (mobile-friendly), large custom photography, best use of screen space, clear navigation, eye-catching graphics, custom typography, less clutter and just overall great design. Further still, are the recent web design trends that we’re seeing being used across the web such as micro-ux, hidden menus and parallax scrolling – all elements that are increasingly being employed in the design of investment management websites.
When doing this review, two things became apparent: some asset managers are pushing the envelope and investing in their digital storefront, but they are in the minority. We found that the vast majority of investment management websites still look dated, are designed at fixed screen sizes that have long been surpassed, are not mobile friendly and have the hallmarks of web design from a decade ago.
But let’s focus on the best examples – and here they are:
